Brian Bledsoe

Last name:
Bledsoe

Brian Bledsoe is a professor in the Dept. of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Graduate Degree Program in Ecology at Colorado State University. Brian’s research is focused on the interface of hydrologic science, ecology, and engineering with an emphasis on the management and restoration of rivers, floodplains, and watersheds. He teaches courses in ecological engineering, engineering decision analysis, environmental river mechanics, nonpoint source pollution, river restoration, and freshwater sustainability. Brian designed and established an Ecological Engineering Concentration within the undergraduate Environmental Engineering degree program at CSU. In 2006, Brian received a National Science Foundation CAREER Award to examine the efficacy of stream restoration for improving water quality. He also served as a Fulbright Scholar in Chile where he worked on environmental flows for sustaining river ecosystems in 2008. Brian's scientific advisory and peer-review activities include the Platte River and San Juan River Endangered Species Recovery Implementation Programs, the Everglades and Louisiana Coastal Area restoration efforts, and the EPA Environmental Monitoring and Assessment Program. Brian is a licensed professional engineer in North Carolina and Colorado.
